Environmental Public Health Internship Program

The Florida Department of Health has a unique opportunity for ethnic minority undergraduate students to participate in a hands-on environmental public health internship experience. This internship program enables students to learn more about the various disciplines in environmental health, such as biomedical waste, food hygiene, tanning, institutional care, water supply, public swimming pools, etc.  In addition, this position will provide opportunities for students to develop interests, knowledge, skills, and abilities to transition into a full-time career in environmental health.

Participating in this internship can influence how fast and how far participants advance in the field of environmental public health.  This position will also afford participants the opportunity to enhance their job experience, satisfaction, the amount of responsibility assumed, and flexibility to change or solidify current career plans in environmental public health.
